Shea Butter
Shea butter (Vitellaria Paradoxa) is the butter of the Shea or Shi tree. These trees are indigenous to West Africa only. Our unrefined shea butter is cooperatively made in the northern regions of Ghana, one of the 19 countries producing shea butter for export. Prized for its fatty acid content, shea butter is an excellent moisturizer. It is high in palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic and arachidic acid making it thick and creamy. Shea butter is rich in vitamins A, E and F. It also contains cinnamic acid, which is a natural sunscreen (SPF 8-10).
Himalayan Pink Sea Salt
Himalayan salt is a brilliant natural exfoliator that will blast away dead cells for softer, brighter-looking skin. Whilst regular salt can be drying, the minerals in Himalayan salt help to restore deep hydration to the skin
African Black Soap
African Black Soap (Alata Samina) is a marvel of soaps. It is made from gingerly sun dried plantain skins, then cooked with palm oil, palm kernel and coco pods to create a luscious dark soap. When used regularly in the shower or bath, it can improve the texture & elasticity of the skin. This gentle soap is all natural and can be used on any skin type.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is extracted from the meat of mature coconuts. It is comprised of a unique combination of natural fats, which makes it useful in treating the skin. These fatty acids include linoleic + lauric acids. It may improve skin barrier function and repair, has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, fights the signs of skin aging, and makes an effective moisturizer.
Cane Sugar
Raw Cane Sugar has multiple benefits for the skin. It is a rich source of naturally derived Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) like glycolic acid, which increase cell turnover. These gently yet deeply exfoliate the skin to unravel its glowing best.
Essential Oils
We use a variety of combinations with our essential oils. Essential oils are compounds extracted from plants. These oils capture the plant’s scent and flavor, or “essence.” Unique aromatic compounds give each essential oil its characteristic essence. Essential oils are obtained through distillation or mechanical methods, such as cold pressing. Once the aromatic chemicals have been extracted, they are combined with a carrier oil to create a product that’s ready for use.
